The long-term success of MacInnes Bros Ltd depends not just on us delivering an excellent quality product but also our commitment to and achievement in fulfilling our wider corporate responsibilities. It is vital to MIB that the local community feels involved in any of our projects. We always liaise closely with community organisations in the area and offer the public the opportunity to feel part of any neighbouring project.
MIB value the impact school visits can have on the pupils learning but also in helping to promote Developing the Young Workforce (DYW) and inspiring future careers in construction and engineering. We fully welcome future potential apprenticeship inquires and opportunities.
As a local company staffed by local people, all of the staff and management at MacInnes Bros Ltd appreciate the need to support the local economy to help ensure the continuity of the islands. MIB support many local organisations and charities in many ways; providing prizes for fundraising events, sponsorship / funds for sporting events, materials free of charge for local projects and advertising in many local event publications. This financial support within the community over the last 10 years amounts to over £30,000.
MIB value the rich and unique culture that the Western Isles is built upon. Being a local contractor, we are aware of the importance of sustaining the native Gaidhlig language and we fully encourage the use of Gaidhlig throughout our company by actively speaking the language amongst our personnel and clients.
This extends to the aforementioned Site visits, which are always offered in both Gaelic and English in order to support the local primary, secondary schools and provide immersive Gaelic tours to educate and inspire the use of the language.
